(almost) one week

It actually doesn't feel like only six days here in Sweden. It happened so much! But from begin on:
On 16th of August was my departing and everything went good. I met Deborah, Lea and Xenia (the three other girls from Switzerland who went to Sweden with AFS) and we flew from Zürich-Kloten to Stockholm-Arlanda. Even if our flight took only two hours we had to wait four and a half hours untill the next bus drove to the campside where the arrival camp was. We spent this time with showing Aiden (a guy from America) the game "Arschlöcherle" (eng. "asshole game") and we played it for about one hour. It was fun! When we arrived at the campside we had to notice that there are very small rooms and only two showers for all of us girls. Except this, the camp was very cool. On Saturday we had a lot of sessions and workshops which prepeared us for dealing with the diffferent culture and language and all the other things you have in an exchange year. In the evening we built four teams for the "evening activity" which meant a competition in form of a relay race. That was A LOT of fun!! After this competition almost every exchange student went for a swim in the lake next to the campside. And on Sunday were we all very nervous and excited: Our hostfamilies were eather pick us up there or waiting at the trainstation in their town or waiting at the airport after some of us had to fly further. My family lives quite near to the campside which is in Stockholm, so they were picking me up. I think I was never as nervous as in the 20 minutes before I met them. They are very very nice. They show me everything and help me with learning Swedish. I'm so glad to be here with them.
Actually I thought I will have school from Monday on, but because I came into the 2nd grade and not into the 1st I had school from Thursday on. So I had three free days which I spent with my hostfamily. On Tuesday evening Ylva, Tove, Cecilia (a friend of Tove) and me went to the cinema in Stockholm where we watched the movie "Man of Steel". On Wednesday morning Jonas and I went to the school for checking my schedule. The Swedish school system seems very complicated to me and my schedule is so difficult to read, because I go to three classes at the same time. First to a natural science class, then to a class with the name Svenska för invandrare (eng. Swedish for immigrants) and finally to the artclass. But some lessons collide with each other and some lessons are to difficult to understand for me ect. It's like a very tricky puzzle. However, today was my first schoolday. It was very exciting, but after three hours English and two and a half hours French and Swenglish the hole day my head was bursting of languages. I found it really funny when my teacher of French asked me if I'm Norwegian. She and a girl of my class said that I have kind of a Norwegian accent... I wonder why. Even if I slept 10 hours last night I'm soooo tired now. I wait for my hostfamily to come back from the airport. They were there because Tove left today for her own exchange year in China. I couldn't go with them because I had school and I think it was better like that for they could have this moment as closest family. Tove, if you read this, jag hoppas att du har ett underbart utbytesår i Kina. :-)

I will not touch this ground for ten and a half month
We had a lot of energizers in the arrival camp. This is one of those, called fruktsallad (eng. fruit salad)
Chile, Italy, Turkey, Switzerland, Turkey, Japan, New Zeeland and Italy - my group for Saturday
Deborah, Lea and Xenia - the Swiss girls
Hej Sverige, här kommer jag!
 My Swedish home :-)
This is my favorite place in the garden. I like it a lot to sit there and doing nothing.
This is Müsli, one of our two cats. I was outside when he catched this bird. Well... they're cats right? They're supposed to do that. But I had compassion with the bird anyway.
This is the big cinema in Stockholm with the fruit and vegetables market in front of it.

Let the year begin!

Sooo... this is my second and last post before my depart. Tomorrow I have to get up early and take the train to Zurich Airport. There I meet the three other girls from Switzerland who also go to Sweden. I know them already because of an orientation camp I had last May and where everyone from Switzerland was who goes to north-Europe with AFS. I'm really glad that I don't have to fly alone.
This last week I spent with visiting some related and friends one last time and packing my suitcase. It is bursting of all my clothes and other stuff but it's not too heavy, fortunately. Yesterday evening I went to a nice restaurant with my family and I gave them a little farewell present. Today was a holyday in all catholic cities (as Solothurn is), so all students had a free day. I met my very best friend Noelle for the last time today and had to say goodbye. Now I'm quite tired and I'll go to bed soon (last night I slept only four hours, because I was so extremly excited). When I write my next post I'm already in Sweden. I'm looking very much forward to all the new experiences.

The countdown starts...

There are only 10 days left here in Switzerland and I'm really busy with preparing. I wrote my packing list now and realized, how much stuff I have to take with me. It seems almost impossible to put everything in my suitcase. Most probably, I'm gonna pay for extra weight, because actually I mustn't take more than 20 kilos with me. This is very few, when you take off for a whole year...
Also, now when I have only ten days left, I have to start to say goodbye to my related and my friends. Of course this is quite hard for me, although I know that I will come back next year. This week I throw my farewell party, because next week all my friends have school again.
I'm looking so much forward to meet my hostfamily and see the house and the region where I'll spend my exchange year. I'm sure, this is going to be very exciting!
